One person died and six sustained injuries in two separate accidents in Greater Noida on Wednesday, the police said.

A senior police officer said the first incident happened when a speeding car hit a divider on the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida. One person died in the incident, while three others sustained severe injuries. The car, which turned turtle, was completely damaged in the accident.

The police said that the deceased has been identified as Anuj Singh, a resident of Delhi’s Dilshad Garden, and three injured persons as Aparna Singh (24), Kavita Singh (27) and Kishori Devi (73). “The family was returning home in Delhi from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya. Anuj was driving the car. The speeding car lost its balance and hit a divider around 6 a.m. We received a call from a passer-by and a team was sent immediately. All the four persons were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared Anuj brought dead,” said Rajpal Singh Tomar, Station House Officer, Dankaur police station.
