India needs strong, decisive govt for next 10 years: NSA Ajit Doval

Says weak coalitions will be bad for the country

National Security Advisor NSA Ajit Doval has said that India will need a strong, stable and a decisive government for the next 10 years to achieve its national, political, economic and strategic objectives.

NSA Ajit DovalHe said, weak coalition will be bad for India. Mr Doval said, populist measures should not take precedence over national requirements. He said, country cannot prosper unless private sectors are strong. He further said that Indian private sector companies should perform and promote Indian strategic interest.

Delivering the prestigious Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture on Dream India 2030- Avoiding the Pitfalls organised by All India Radio in New Delhi today , Mr Doval said, if India has to become a major power its economy has to be globally competitive adding that it can only be made possible by being technologically ahead. He stressed that government’s digital technology programme is a game changer in present day.

The National Security Advisor said, country is not governed by people’s representative, but by the laws made by them and therefore the rule of law is extremely important. He said, India cannot afford to be a soft power for the next few years because it will be compelled to take hard decisions.

Speaking on the occasion, Information and Broadcasting Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore said, Sardar Patel will always be remembered for the unity of the nation. He also said, people must resolve to make the country strong for which we all have to be committed to avoid pitfalls and ready to make sacrifices.

Prasar Bharati Chairman Dr. A Suryaprakash, lauded the efforts of All India Radio in organizing such lectures in memory of luminaries like Sardar Patel, Dr. Rajendra Prasad among others. The function was also attended by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare among other dignitaries.
