LUCKNOW: In a first, students appearing in UP Secondary Education Board examinations in Lucknow next year will get barcoded answer copies.
This is another step taken by UP Board to ensure more transparency and check copying in examinations.
Last year, barcoded answer copies were used only in selected sensitive districts of the state where complaints of mass copying were reported. The District Inspector of All schools (DIOS) Mukesh Kumar Singh will issue the directive in this regard soon.
No answer copy without barcodes will be evaluated by UP Board teachers.
"Barcoded answer copies will ensure greater transparency in the examinations as there will be no possibility of copies being written by anyone else except the students with the respective roll number who is given the answer book," said DIOS Mukesh Kumar Singh. He said it will also aid in error-free and speedy evaluation.
DIOS said the list of examination centres will be declared next month and added that all colleges have been directed to upload their data online. Only schools which meet all the parameters set by the UP Board will be chosen for examination centres, he said.
