‘Corruption at all levels in the Telugu Desam government’

BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana on Wednesday alleged that one TDP MP was a benami for those at the helm of the TDP Government.

I-T raids

In a letter addressed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the BJP leader released the 17th set of five questions and demanded that the TDP chief answer them. Lashing out at Mr. Naidu for blaming the Modi government for the income-tax raids on the properties belonging to the MP, Mr. Lakshminarayana said the department had found dubious transactions.

Mr. Lakshminarayana alleged that those in the TDP government were resorting to large- scale corruption even in the purchase of cricket bats in the CM’s home constituency Kuppam in Chittoor district.

For 250 bats, the government had spent a whopping ₹15.26 lakh.

Likewise, crores of rupees was siphoned off in the name of Neeru-Chettu under which saplings were planted at the Secretariat and other places.

Cost escalation

The BJP leader demanded an explanation from the TDP chief on escalation in estimates for the Vykunthapuram barrage across the Krishna River, and found fault with his decision to remove sarpanches in gram panchayats.
