Lamborghini Considering Hypercar In The Vein Of The Valkyrie And Senna

Lamborghini is pondering a new limited-series model with an extreme focus on aerodynamics, much like the McLaren Senna and Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Autocar reports that Lamborghini chief executive Stefano Domenicali has expressed an interest in such a vehicle, saying that it would be “in the vein of Centenario and Veneno.” Consequently, it would extremely limited in numbers and inevitably come with a price tag exceeding $1 million.

As right now that’s just a thought, it’s unclear what sort of technologies such a model would embrace.

Inevitably, the car would come with Lamborghini’s naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, probably tuned to deliver more grunt than ever before. It is quite possible that the Italian marque could supplement the V12 with an electric motor, potentially increasing horsepower to the four-figure range.

However, like both the Senna and Valkyrie, the potential new Lamborghini hypercar would be about much more than a potent engine, as aerodynamics would help to further distinguish it from any other Raging Bull.

Aerodynamics would inevitably be inspired by the ones used on the Huracan Performante and Aventador SVJ. Consequently, the car could make use of a new-and-improved active aerodynamics system while also utilizing even larger fixed wings and other aero trickery. If Lamborghini wants to go all out, it could also take a leaf out of Aston Martin‘s playbook by using advanced underbody aerodynamics.

Lamborghini has never had any issue selling its limited-series models and a new, limited run hypercar would likely sell out almost instantly. Now we just wait and see if Domenicali makes such a project a reality.
