MP Assembly Elections 2018: 30,000 run for vote awareness


Indore: About 30,000 people took part in ‘Run for Vote’ campaign on Wednesday to generate awareness on voting rights. This was the highest number of participants in such a run organised in the state. Local residents from every section of society, age, and caste took part in the run, which started from Nehru Stadium early morning and ended at same place while returning from Palasia Square.

Divisional commissioner Raghawendra Singh, chief commissioner of income tax department Ajay Kumar Chauhan, ADG Ajay Sharma, collector Nishant Warwade, DIG Harinarayanachari Mishra, commissioner, social justice department KG Tiwari, IG Milind Kaniskar flagged off the race. Former cricketer Amay Khurasia was also present. Raghawendra Singh administered oath to all participants that will cast vote on November 28. The participants carried the message, ‘My vote, my power’. FM radio played songs enroute to encourage runners. Some participants performed aerobics. Divyangs also participated in the run.
