Governor P. Sathasivam will be the chief guest at the fifth convocation of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (KUFOS), Panangad, on October 29.
Vice Chancellor A. Ramachandran said here on Wednesday that the Governor would confer degrees on 219 students.
J. Mercykutty Amma, Minister for Fisheries, will preside over the function.
Prof. Ramachandran said the varsity, which started functioning seven years ago with two courses and 200 students, has now grown into an institution with 34 postgraduate programmes and over 1,000 students.
The Vice Chancellor added that several KUFOS students had received campus placements at leading research institutions in the country.
Many of its students were also absorbed by global companies, he said.
