PITTSBURGH, Oct. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- "I have observed drivers who are confused when they arrive at the same time at a stop sign regarding who has the right of way," said an inventor from Laurelton, N.Y. "This inspired me to develop a better stop sign that could reduce accidents among vehicles and possibly involving pedestrians."
He developed the KC STOP SIGN to detect who arrives first and should accelerate through an intersection. This design could improve traffic flow while reducing commuter time. It would also simplify traffic flow to ensure it was organized. Additionally, this design would detect pedestrians who would automatically be afforded the right-of-way.
The original design was submitted to the Long Island office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
