In second such incident in a week, militants on Thursday evening opened fire upon a 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) camp at Luragam in Jammu & Kashmir’s Tral sector, killing an Army jawan. The militants, armed with sniper rifles, carried out the attack at around 9.00 pm, killing sepoy Ngamsiamliana, who was on guard duty, PTI quoted officials a saying.

The attack comes hours after four terrorists were neutralised in an encounter by security forces in Bijbehara’s Arwani in district Anantnag.

The sepoy received the fatal shot in his head while another jawan, Thake Dhoniy, received minor injuries, the officials said. This is the second such incident within four days in which militants have used sniper rifles to carry out attack on security establishments.
