BHOPAL: The launching of e-library Data colony has been hit hard by the enforcement of election model code. The library, developed at cost f Rs 35 lakh by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) would have proved very beneficial for the students preparing for competitive exams. Since all major libraries are located in new Bhopal area, this e-library near the airport would have provided access to hundreds of books available online to people residing in the area.
But now they will have to wait a little longer, till the completion of the election process. The municipal authorities had planned to inaugurate the library on October 12 as various competitive exams that of banks, SSC are lined up. However, with the election code coming into fore in the poll-bound state, the launching of the e-library has been differed. The library was part of the cluster of projects which were to be inaugurated before October 6 when the election code came into force in the state.
A few development works at Manuabhan Ki Tekri, Saint Hirdaram Nagar hall, Bhoomi pujan of Bharat Mata temple, cancer hospital, the musical fountaion etc, were part of the cluster which were scheduled to be to be inaugurated Local corporator Krishna Mohan Soni said that the e-library was set up for the aspirants preparing for competitive exams. The e-library was to be inaugurated on October 12, but before that date of assembly election was announced and poll code came into force so now the launching of the liberary will have to wait, he said. The membership of the library would be provided to students at very nominal rate, informed Soni. Students can download any book available in open market which they cannot afford, he added.
