BHOPAL: Applauding the women for raising voice against injustice, TV actor Divyanka Tripathi said termed the #METOO movement as need of the hour especially for TV and film industry. “Women are getting a platform to speak their heart out and the entire movement has brought a change in our industry. I’m so happy that women are coming forward and raising their voice against injustice, said ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ fame actor while speaking at an event of DP Jwellers in the city on Wednesday.

On being asked about her facing sexual harassment at workplace, the small screen actor told to media persons, “In the world of theatre, every woman has to face sexual harassment, and it happened to me too, but I knew how to deal with it.” “Yes, some people say that innocent people are also being embroiled in it. But I would like to say that though it is wrong but such thing happens in a battle and eventually this will lead to an era where everything would be fair and just here,” said the actor.

Now due to this movement, everyone in the industry whether men or women will think ten thousand times before committing any such crime, said Divyanka, who has been made the ‘State icon and Brand Ambassador’ of the assembly elections. “It was a time when the voice of women was suppressed saying that if they want to make career in the field, they will have to compromise. There was no other option. Just imagine, how much the girls or women had to suffer especially those who comes from small towns to showcase their acting skills with and without permission of their parents,” said Divyanka.
