Google Pixel 3 photo saving issue to be fixed soon with a software update.
Google Pixel 3 photo saving issue will be fixed soon with a software update. The software giant has now responded that it is working on the HDR processing bug, and provided a statement to The Verge. “We will be rolling out a software update in the coming weeks to address the rare case of a photo not properly saving. The report suggests Google will be releasing a software update to ‘address’ the photo saving bug in the coming weeks.
The HDR processing issue came into limelight when several Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL users took to the internet to complain about the devices failing to save images properly. A number of users on Reddit reported to have been facing this issue. The problem seems to be cropping up when a user take a picture using HDR mode on Pixel 3’s native camera app, then switch to another app immediately after taking the photo. In some situations, the photo does not get saved, but that doesn’t seem to happen every time.

The Verge report mention that the issue has plagued a ‘small number’ of Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL phones and a few other Android devices like Moto Z and Moto E models, Nexus 5X and Samsung Galaxy smartphones. While the software update is expected to arrive soon, The Verge providing a workaround for the issue suggest users that they can either turn off the HDR functionality or leave the camera app open until HDR processing gets completed.
Both Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL features a 12.2MP rear camera. The camera on the smartphones takes brilliant photos with sharp detail and good dynamic range. Google has added AI-powered camera feature called Top Shot on its latest flagship Pixel 3 series. The feature basically takes multiple shots of a face and pick the best one. The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will go on sale in India on November 1.
