'Why would he waste good drugs on you?' Surfers Paradise bar owner is slammed for telling a patron she is 'too ugly' to have her drink spiked by his bartender
- Remi Broadway said his staff were unlikely to 'waste drugs' on the woman
- He suggested she was too ugly in comparison to other 'hot' girls at his venue
- Accusation came from a customer who claims she was spiked six months ago
A club owner who suggested a customer was 'not hot enough' to have her drink spiked by his bartenders has faced fierce backlash for joking about date rape.
Remi Broadway, owner of Central Lounge Bar and Dining in Surfers Paradise, said his staff were unlikely to 'waste drugs' on the woman, given how 'hot' other girls that visited his venue were.
'When a girl accuses one of my bartenders of spiking her drink. Sweetheart, have you seen how hot the girls are that visit Central? Why would he waste some good drugs on you?' he wrote on Facebook.

Mr Broadway deleted the post shortly after sharing it, but has been unable to escape its repercussions after it was being widely shared by his social media 'friends'.
He claimed the accusation came from a customer who reviewed his business over an experience she had six months ago - the review has since been deleted.
The owner, who played 'Training Video Guy #2' in Scooby Doo, told Daily Mail Australia he apologised to the woman after learning his post had gone viral.
'She posted the review yesterday morning saying my bartender spiked her six months ago. I then joked amongst my friends after reading it,' Mr Broadway said.
'Then I heard it had gone public and someone was offended so I took it down and immediately apologised to her. But she didn't accept my apology, shared the post, and unleashed the angry mob.'

Mr Broadway, who has owned the business for seven years, said he was confident the accusation was false because he had full faith in the professionalism of his staff.
'I do have 100% confidence in my staff; we're like a family. The girl making up the story of being spiked says it happened six months ago, so sadly I don't have the security footage any more to prove her wrong.
'I did make a joke about a clearly false accusation which was intended for my friends, who all understand my twisted sense of humour.
'I am deeply sorry if this has upset any real victims of date rape. I'm a strong supporter in a woman's right to choose who she lays with.'
