BHU professor accused of sexual misconduct suspended

VARANASI: The Banaras Hindu University administration suspended Prof SK Chaubey of zoology department on Wednesday, soon after initiating a probe into alleged sexual misconduct charges against him.

"BHU VC Rakesh Bhatnagar had summoned Prof Chaubey on Tuesday to seek clarification about charges of sexual misconduct against him by some students of the department, after which he was suspended," university spokesperson Rajesh Singh said.


The matter was being investigated by BHU women grievance cell. "The professor would remain suspended till completion of probe," he added.
