MUMBAI: Sakinaka police arrested two more men, including a computer engineer, for their involvement in the murder of Congress party worker, Manoj Dubey (45), below Asalpha Metro station on October 22.

Rahul Sharma (23), the engineer, and Sarvesh Singh (28) had arranged the chopper and sword used by the main accused, BJP party workers Jitendra Mishra alias Bandish (27) and Umesh Singh alias Thakur (30), to stab Dubey.

The trigger for the incident was Sharma's reply to the victim's Facebook post on October 21. "Sharma had questioned what the Congress and its local netas had done for the welfare of Chandivali residents. An enraged Dubey had landed up at Sharma's Ghatkopar residence the same night and created a ruckus. Sharma was not at home, but his mother later lodged an NC against Dubey," said a police officer. Dubey then had a run-in with Mishra and Thakur.

"Sharma and Singh broke down during questioning and revealed they had helped procure the weapons," said Sakinaka police inspector Sunil Mane. The duo will be produced before the Andheri court on Friday. -V Narayan
