Wednesday night's episode of The Bachelorette saw Charlie Newling assembling a child's bike during a 'parenting' challenge.

And after the 31-year-old builder shared a photo of himself bonding with the little girl to Instagram, furious fans told him to spend time with his own son instead.

The comments were seemingly in response to reports earlier this week that the tradesman has a 'secret child' from a previous relationship.

Fury: '[He] was happy enough to ditch his kid to find love, but doesn't even tell the woman he's chasing that he's got a kid. What a dropkick dad,' one fan commented on Charlie's Instagram

'I bet he has never bothered to assemble a bike for his own kid,' another commented.

Even Married At First Sight star Nasser Sultan joined in, asking Charlie pointedly: 'Why haven't you told Ali [Oetjen] about your son?'

On Wednesday's episode of The Bachelorette, the suitors were required to assemble a bicycle with a child as Ali Oetjen, 32, observed their 'parenting skills'.

Charlie, who is known for his jealous and fiercely competitive nature on the show, emerged as the winner of the challenge.

Reflecting on the challenge on Instagram later that night, he wrote in the caption: 'Moments like tonight show you what does really matter in life.'

There was no mention of the fact Charlie has a son on Wednesday, despite the challenge being centered around raising children.

He even said during the babysitting task that he hoped he could use the opportunity to show Ali he would be a 'good dad' if they had children together.
