An Australian police officer has been accused of accepting a series of bribes from funeral home directors as well as interfering with bodies at a hospital morgue.
The current police investigation includes allegations the female officer took money and gifts from funeral home directors to refer families of deceased people to their business while she worked at a morgue.
The Gold Coast-based officer on occasion removed items from bodies - including allegedly cutting a lock of a deceased woman's hair to send to family overseas.

The investigation was recently opened by a Queensland Coroner concerned about rumours of strange activities at the morgue.
At this stage, no charges have been laid against the officer.
With the investigation ongoing, she has secured police work elsewhere on the Gold Coast, where she is under supervision.
'The Crime and Corruption Commission can confirm it was notified by the Queensland Police Service about allegations relating to a (police) officer from the Gold Coast District,' a spokesman told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
'This matter has been assessed by the CCC. It was determined to refer this matter back to the QPS to deal with, subject to the CCC's monitoring role.
'It is important to note all allegations should be treated as unsubstantiated until a final outcome is reached.'

Queensland Shadow Health Minister Ros Bates is 'appalled' by the allegations.
'To think that grieving families could be being taken advantage of in hospitals makes me feel sick,' she said.
'I would be heartbroken if this happened to a member of my family and is the last thing someone at their most vulnerable needs.'
