All-New Volvo V60 Cross Country Priced From £38,270 In The UK

Volvo buyers in the UK will be able to purchase the all-new V60 Cross Country starting from £38,270 ($49,380), with order books officially open and first deliveries expected in the first quarter of 2019.

Unlike the regular V60, the Cross Country version separates itself through its robust bodywork elements, exclusive five-spoke 18-inch alloys, permanent all-wheel drive as standard and an extra 60 mm (2.36 inches) of ground clearance.

You also get Hill Descent Control and an Off Road Drive Mode setting, the latter altering the operation of the AWD system, as well as the responsiveness of the engine, gearbox and throttle, helping you negotiate tricky terrain below 25 mph (40 km/h).

“The Cross Country has been an integral part of our estate car line-up since 1997, and this latest version maintains its heritage of giving customers another dimension of driving capability and ruggedness,” stated Volvo UK sales director, Matt Galvin. “The new V60 has been incredibly well received since its launch earlier this year, and the addition of the new Cross Country version promises to raise its appeal even further.”

On-board safety and convenience features for the V60 CC include Volvo’s Sensus multimedia system, Volvo On Call, City Safety with automatic emergency braking and Oncoming Collision Mitigation, among others. The latter can detect vehicles traveling towards you and will apply the brakes automatically to limit a potential impact’s severity.

Power comes from a 190 PS (187 HP) 2.0-liter D4 diesel unit, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque are said to provide sufficient pulling power even on low-grip surfaces, while also giving you a braked towing capacity of 2 tons (4,480 lbs).

With the standard 18-inch wheels, the Volvo V60 Cross Country can average a combined 55.4 mpg (5.1 l/100km), with CO2 emissions of 135g/km.
