2 minors raped at home, rescued
Sanjay Yadav | TNN | Updated: Oct 25, 2018, 00:33 ISTGurgaon: The child welfare committee (CWC) along with an NGO and police rescued two minor girls from their homes in Tighra village on Wednesday, where they were being raped — one by her own father.
They were sent to Arushi home and the two accused were arrested.
The girls lived next door to each other and went to the same school.
One of the accused, a 50-year-old taxi driver, used to sexually assault his 11-year-old daughter, while the other, a 32-year-old security guard, used to rape his live-in partner’s 10-year-old daughter.
A while ago, the girls confided in each other about this and approached their class teacher, who contacted a local NGO. The NGO approached CWC on Tuesday and they were rescued.
“The 11-year-old girl’s father used to rape her and threatened to kill her if she told her mother. The other girl’s mother was living with the security guard who would rape her, while the girl’s father lived separately. Both girls are being counselled for trauma,” said Shakuntla Dhull, CWC chairperson.
An FIR was registered at women’s police station, Sector 51, under Section 6 of POCSO act.
“We are interrogating both the accused. Action will be taken as per law. If we find more people involved, we will nab them too,” said ASI Subhash Bokan, spokesperson of Gurgaon police.
