CMRS nod for Pink Line section

Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) S.K. Pathak on Wednesday accorded approval to the Shiv Vihar-Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake section of the Delhi Metro’s Pink Line following its inspection on October 20.

The final date of opening of this section has not yet been announced.

‘Subject to stipulations’

‘“The approval however is subject to fulfilment of certain more stipulations and formalities. Therefore, the exact date of the opening of the section will be intimated after fulfilment of these requirements,” a DMRC spokesperson said.

The DMRC said the 17.86-km elevated section comprises of 15 elevated stations, including Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake, East Vinod Nagar- Mayur Vihar- II , Mandawali- West Vinod Nagar, I.P. Extension, Anand Vihar ISBT, Karkardooma, Karkardooma Court, Krishna Nagar, East Azad Nagar, Welcome, Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar.

“The main highlight of this section will be the presence of three interchange stations — Anand Vihar [with the Blue Line], Karkardooma [with the Blue Line] and Welcome [with the Red Line],” the DMRC said.

After the opening of this section, the Delhi Metro network will become 314 km long.
