PATIALA: A day after the district health authorities sealed a drug de-addiction centre being run illegally under the grab of an old age home from Dhamo Majra village in the district, the health teams on Tuesday busted yet another illegal de-addition centre in Shermajra village.
The authorities claimed that centre was being run in a private building where the owner had hanged boards of ‘registered de-addiction centre' whereas no permission was granted to the centre by the competent authority.

The six persons whom the health team found at the centre claimed that they were not inmates and had only come to meet the owner.

He said there were no drugs found at the site, but the team found around 40 beds inside the building. There was a flex board hanged outside the building that claiming that it was a registered de-addiction centre, whereas the owner had no permission, said the civil surgeon.
He added that the keys of the sealed building were handed over to the Pasiana police, who would conduct the further probe into the matter.
