Indore: Calendar showing CM pilgrimage scheme removed from DAVV campus

Election Commission on Tuesday got all government calendars removed from administrative campus of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) as they publicised government welfare schemes. Two types of government calendars were hanging on the walls of every department and chamber of the administrative campus also known as RNT Marg campus of DAVV.

The October month page of both the calendars carried information on Chief Minister Pilgrimage Scheme with pictures of pilgrims boarding a train. The scheme was launched by Shivraj Singh government for senior citizens. Using C-Vigil app, RTI activist Pankaj Prajapati lodged a complaint about it to Election Commission. Within half an hour of the complaint, election commission official Pradeep Saxena reached the university and met vice-chancellor Dr Narendra Dhakad.

He told V-C that the calendars violate model code of conduct and should be removed immediately. Soon, calendars from the room of V-C, registrar, examination controller, dean student welfare, finance controller and deputy registrars were removed. This action is likely to be taken against all government offices across the state where the calendars are hanging.
