The Duchess of Cambridge customised her new royal brooch in a sweet tribute to Prince William - as it is made out of glass instead of ivory.
Kate, 36, wore the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II, an honour given by Her Majesty to female royals, at the glitzy dinner at Buckingham Palace, held in honour of Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander.
However, her miniature differs from others as it is made from glass, instead of ivory, to reflect her husband's work on animal conservation.
Meanwhile, the Duchess wore a dazzling pearl and diamond necklace at the state banquet, which originally belonged to Queen Alexandra, and was a favourite of the Queen Mother.

It is the second time that Kate has worn the family order, which she was awarded last year, after its first outing at the Diplomatic Corps reception in December.
The order, which is also worn by the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne and the Countess of Wessex, features a jewel encased image of the Queen pinned on a chartreuse yellow ribbon and worn on the left shoulder.
The miniature portrait, painted on glass, depicts the Queen as a young woman in evening dress wearing the ribbon and star of the Order of the Garter.
According to Majesty magazine, Kate's family order is different to previous examples, because it is not made of ivory.

Other senior members of the royal family also wear the Royal Family Order, including the Duchess of Cornwall (above, at the Dutch state banquet)
Her decision to have a glass miniature is likely to be a reflection of William's passion for conservation work, which includes campaigning to end the ivory trade.
William, who is the patron of Tusk, previously warned: ‘When I was born, there were one million elephants roaming Africa.
'By the time my daughter Charlotte was born, the numbers had crashed to just 350,000.
'And at the current pace of illegal poaching, when Charlotte turns 25, the African elephant will be gone from the wild.’

Kate also wore Queen Alexandra's dazzling pearl and diamond wedding necklace for the first time at last night's state banquet

Meanwhile, Kate also wore Queen Alexandra's necklace for the first time at last night's state banquet.
The necklace, which was made by Garrard and given to Alexandra as a wedding gift by her husband Edward VII, and features eight pearls surrounded by diamonds.
It was one of the Queen Mother's favourite pieces, with the royal photographed wearing it on numerous occasions.
The Queen inherited the necklace following her mother's death in 2002, but has not been photographed wearing it.
