Clinton, Obama among targets of suspicious packages

The U.S. Secret Service says it has intercepted two suspicious packages, that were addressed to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama.

There were also reports of additional packages found on Wednesday, addressed to locations including the White House and the Time Warner Building housing the offices of CNN in New York.

The one sent to Obama was addressed to his residence in Washington, D.C.

And was intercepted by Secret Service personnel on Wednesday.

The package intended for Clinton was found late Tuesday and was addressed to her home in Westchester County, New York.

The New York Times is reporting the package addressed to Clinton was an explosive device.

The FBI says it's investigating the package.

Both packages were discovered during routine mail screenings.

Authorities say neither Obama or Clinton received them or were at risk of receiving them.

Earlier this week, a suspicious package was found at the New York suburban home of billionaire liberal donor George Soros.

Authorities are investigating a possible connection between the packages.
