Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's assurance to enlist the Valmiki caste in the Scheduled Tribes had remained a non-starter for the past four years of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime, said YSR Congress Party's (YSRCP) Kurnool Parliamentary Constituency incharge B.Y. Ramaiah.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Mr. Ramaiah said the State government had failed to keep promises made to Backward Classes (BC), especially the Valmikis.
He remarked there would be no use of the Valmiki Federation and said there would be issues in allocation of funds and selection of beneficiaries.
YSR’s vision
YSRCP was committed towards the development of the community by following the vision of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was the only person working for them, he said.
Meanwhile, a convention of people hailing from the community will be held at Mantralayam on October 25 by the YSRCP BC study committee, which was touring the State with the aim to identify problems of the BCs.
