Jawaharlal Nehru University has released the dates for the Entrance Examination for 2019. JNU has released a circular on the official website. According to the JNUEE 2019 circular the examination will be conducted from 27th December to 30th December, 2018. This year JNU will conduct its first online entrance exam.
JNU has decided to conduct their entrance exam online. They have decided to shift from the traditional pen and paper based tests to the computer based tests. The exam format has also been changed from subjective tests to objective type tests.
NOTE: "Please note that JNU reserves the right to change the Dates of Entrance Examination to a later date. This is for the kind information of all aspirants who wish to appear in JNUEE 2019-20," the official notice read.
The online examination consists of multiple choice of qusestions of 70 marks each for all the courses. This negates the a comprehensive evaluation of analytical, writing and other skills which are so very necessary, particularly in humanities and social sciences.
However, objecting the new exam pattern the JNUSU president N Sai Balaji said, "Not even IITs have MCQs as an exam module for social science and humanities departments.
The JNUEE exam paper would have multiple choice questions (MCQs) and negative marking. The candidates who wish to take admission in JNU have to take this online test. Candidates can get more details on the official website of the university jnu.ac.in.
"The JNU administration deplores the baseless allegations levelled against the proposed computer-based test by the newly-elected JNUSU. It completely refutes the unsubstantiated claims by the JNUSU on the computer-based entrance exam and urges everyone to introspect on the benefits of such a system," the administration countered the allegations in a statement then.
