Congress files complaints against BJP, CM for MCC violation


Congress party have filed complaints with the Election Commission against BJP and CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, for violating the Election Model Code of Conduct (EMCC), here on Tuesday. Congress spokesperson JP Dhanopia submitted the complaint alleging that the CM is violating the EMCC by blending politics and religion.

He said that CM has organised the programme and also participated in the Sadhu Saint convention held, in Bhopal on Monday evening. He alleged that to come in power for fourth time the CM has misused the religious platform. He stated that in the guideline of the EMCC it is clearly mentioned that ‘To obtain vote candidate or the party cannot ask on the religious basis and party and the candidate shall remain away from such programmes.’ He asked urged EC to file the case against the CM for EMCC violation and to take strict action against him.
