Police search for man over alleged failed robbery
ACT police are trying to identify a man whose alleged attempt to rob a family grocer in Cook backfired when staff confronted him.
A man tried to rob The Cook Grocer about 7.35pm on Wednesday, October 3, armed with a large kitchen knife, police said.
When staff members confronted the man he fled empty-handed and was last seen running towards Cook Neighbourhood Oval, according to police.
Police said the man was described as being Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm (five feet, 11 inches) tall, with a thin build and short dark hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top, black tracksuit pants and grey sneakers.
ACT Policing is also seeking anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident.
