Virat Kohli pulverising records for fun: Twitterati hail Indian captain’s record-breaking innings

Virat Kohli became the fastest to reach 10,000 ODI runs, surpassing the record set by Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli took just 205 innings to get to the milestone.

Virat Kohli gathered praise from the cricket fraternity as he surpassed batting icon Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest man to reach 10,000 ODI runs. The right-handed batsman reached the record in the second ODI against West Indies at Visakhapatnam. Kohli took 205 innings to reach the milestone while Tendulkar took 259 in doing so. His innings propelled India’s score to 321/6. Kohli ended his innings unbeaten on 157 off 129 balls and his innings included 13 fours and four sixes.

Apart from setting this landmark record, Kohli scored his 37th ODI ton. He also reached another milestone as he became the highest run scorer for India against West Indies in 50-overs format.The Indian captain has also crossed 1000 runs for the calendar year, taking 11 innings to reach the four-figure mark.
