VOLLEYBALL: Westport qualifies for South Sectionals

Sydney Pacheco's nine aces and nine assists helped Westport to defeat Upper Cape Regional 3-0 (23-25-13) in Mayflower Athletic Conference volleyball on Tuesday and qualify for the South Sectional playoffs.

Also for the Wildcats (9-9, 9-7 for tournament purposes), Sophie Pawlak had eight aces and five kills and Lacie Miranda came through with four aces and three kills.

Dartmouth 3, Somerset Berkley 1: The Indians defeated the Raiders, winning 25-21, 23-25, 25-14, 25-21.

For SB, Kaylin Gibbons recorded 10 digs and 10 assists, while Vanessa Nightingale racked up five kills, 11 digs and three aces.

Somerset Berkley fell to 6-11.
