Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal, National Service Scheme, Red Ribbon Club and Red Cross Society, in collaboration with the Family Planning Association of India Bhopal, established a Yuva Mitra Kendra (youth friend centre) at Sri Sathya Sai Women’s College for physical and mental health problems of girl students, and friendly solutions of incidents that they generally hesitate to express.
Doctors and consultants will be available for two days a week at this centre. There is also a drop box arrangement where students can seek suggestions by writing their question if they feel reluctant to speak.
Once a month, the questions put in that box will be discussed without mentioning the name.President of FPAI Dr. Mamta Mishra, Principal of the college Dr. Sudha Pathak and Deputy Principal Dr. Asha Agarwal launched the centre by lighting the lamp in front of the Goddess Saraswati and cutting the lace.
On this opening occasion, the students of NSS presented Saraswati-Vandana and welcome song along with the abstract drama based on the beliefs and problems related to menstruation.
On this occasion, Mr. Nilesh Choubey, Manager, FPAI, Mr. Jagdish Parsai, Programme Officer, Dr. Anupama Chauhan and Dr. Pooja Kaur Chaggar were present. Dr. Mamta Mishra announced to set up a reading-park and set up sanitary napkin making and disposable machine. Hemoglobin investigative camp was organized on this occasion in which Dr. Athavale and his team examined hemoglobin.
NSS volunteer Priyanka Vishwakarma, Nidhi Dubey, Mamta Shanku, Shivani Gupta, Sudha Lovhesi, Kritika, Vartika, Apurva, Richa etc. made important contributions in the streamlined operation of the programme.
