Says no one with an intention to create any ruckus will be permitted to camp in Sabarimala

In order to avoid untoward incidents at the Sabarimala temple, pilgrims entering the Sannidhanam will be regulated, keeping the base camp as a waiting station, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said. Other States have been informed of the same and no one with an intention to create any ruckus will be permitted to camp in Sabarimala.

Mr. Vijayan was speaking at the Left Democratic Front Maha Sangamam held at the Cantonment ground here on Wednesday as part of the LDF campaign on Sabarimala issue.

Mr. Vijayan also added that strict action would be taken against those who disturbed religious harmony and secularism. He said the State government would ensure all arrangements for a peaceful pilgrimage. “It will not allow criminals to make Sannidhanam their abode.”

Slamming the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Mr. Vijayan said both the outfits had been trying to create communal tension.

Cong support

He added that the Congress was no exception as many Congress workers were now seen supporting the weird arguments of the BJP. “The Congress brought more people into the protests led by the BJP.”

He added that the Sangh Parivar had assimilated criminals from across the State as part of the protest. “A possible riot was averted by the timely intervention of the police,” he said.
