The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an agreement for mutual cooperation between the (ICAI) and the Certified Professional Accountants Afghanistan.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two institutions would work together towards capacity building of Afghanistan Accountancy Board, and strengthening the IT capacity and quality assurance in Afghanistan.
The two institutions would also conduct students and members exchange programmes as well as knowledge transfer through seminars, conferences and joint activities mutually beneficial to both the parties, an official statement said.
"Afghanistan will help India and ICAI to facilitate indirect employment generation for Indian chartered accountants through recognition and acceptability amongst Afghanistan employers," the statement said.
