Man gets life term for killing farmer in Chhota Udepur
TNN | Oct 25, 2018, 04:00 ISTVadodara: A sessions court in Chhota Udepur sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing a farmer in December 2015 in Kawant.
Farmer Gamesh Rathwa was stoned to death by convict Dursing Rathwa as the former’s son was exploiting his son at work in Surat.
On December 19, 2015, Gamesh had taken out his bovines for grazing on the outskirts of Roddha village where he met Dursing near a hand-pump. Seeing Gamesh, Dursing started hurling abuses at him. He continued even as Gamesh asked him not to. Later he got into arguments with Gamesh saying that his son Suresh exploits his son where they work at Surat. The duo’s sons worked as diamond workers and stayed together.
As the arguments heated, Dursing picked up a stone and smashed Gamesh’s head. “During one of their conversations, Dursing’s son told his father that Suresh makes him do all domestic chores. This angered Dursing and he wanted to settle scores with Gamesh,” said additional public prosecutor Rajendrasinh Parmar. Parmar said that during Dursing’s trial, many villagers who had witnessed the murder, testified against him. He was also fined Rs 5,000 by the court.tnn
