SANGAREDDY: Telangana’s ensuing Assembly elections seem curiously bereft of issues pertaining to the voters. Successive defections between the State’s prominent parties including the Congress, BJP, and the ruling TRS parties, ever since the dissolution of the Assembly, have left the voters confounded.

If sources are to be believed, even the party high commands are trying to make sense of the increasingly fickle manner in which party leaders and cadre declare loyalties. Gajwel Assembly constituency is an especially prestigious battle for the Congress and TRS.

It is learnt that TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy had approached former Gajwel MLA Thumkunta Narsa Reddy, chairman of Telangana State Road Development Corporation, over rumours of his dissatisfaction with TRS. Following the meeting, speculations were rife that Reddy would go back to Congress. However, after a timely intervention from Harish Rao, Reddy is said to have decided to continue with TRS.

A few days ago, TRS leader MC Rajaiah had left TRS to join Congress. However, on Monday, Harish Rao visited Rajaiah at his residence, after which the leader announced his decision to return to TRS.
