'Safaiwala' in all railway departments get new designations

PHAGWARA: Indian Railways have decided to change the existing designation of 'Safaiwala' in all railway departments and it would be replaced with revised designation as 'House Keeping Assistant'.

An official letter in this regard has been issued to all Railway Divisional Headquarters of the country by S Balachandra, Executive Director of Railway Board on Tuesday evening.

According to new instructions Safaiwala of Medical Department of Railway has been designated as "House Keeping Assistant (Medical)", in Commercial Wing "House Keeping Assistant (Commercial)", In Operating Wing "House Keeping Assistant (Operating)", in Store Wing "House Keeping Assistant (Store)" and in Civil Engg Wing "House Keeping Assistant (Engg)".
