Ujjain: Mahidpur’s returning officer Shilee Kanas lodged an FIR against AAP leader Bhagwati Prasad Purohit under Section 188 of IPC-1860 and sections 51and 128 of Central Motor Vehicle Act-1989 for alleged violation of Modal Code of Conduct (MCC). Purohit allegedly organised a vehicle rally without the permission of returning officer on October 17. As per the Election Commission’s guidelines, during a vehicle rally 100 metre distance is necessary between bunch of 10 motorcycles and these rules were not observed in his rally.
First training session of presiding officers
2357 officers out of 2421 presiding officers participated in the first training session held on Monday and Tuesday at Vivekananda Engineering building in Vikram University. As per EC’s guidelines, training will be held in three different sessions. Master trainers provided detailed information about the use of EVMs. Training of presiding officers and polling officer number 1 will be held from October 29-31.
Control room set up to handle C-Vigil plaints
District electoral officer Manish Singh set up a control room to handle the complaints registered under C-Vigil app. Complaints will be registered to RO, SST and FST of the respective electoral constituency and services will be provided 24X7. Manish Singh had appointed 3 nodal officers who will handle the cases in three shifts. Government School Khedakhajuriya principal Abhimanyu Vyas will perform duties from 6 am-2 pm, district education officer Sanjay Goyal will handle cases from 2 pm-10 pm and district resources coordinating officer PS Solanki will perform duties from 10 pm-6 am. A team comprising six members was also formed for every constituency in the district who will visit the place of complaint and submit a report to returning officer.
