A father who repeatedly raped his three young daughters has complained about his prison sentence - saying it's 'simply too long'.

The divorced Queensland man, who told his daughters he was teaching them 'how to have sex with boys', was convicted of 20 counts of rape, incest and indecent treatment of a child in January.

The Court of Appeal in Brisbane heard how he would take showers with his youngest daughter, aged six, while he performed lewd acts. 

He also showered with his two eldest daughters, aged seven and nine, forcing them into sex acts.

He told them it was a normal part of the father-daughter relationship, and even tried to convince his eldest daughter she was 'late' because most girls began sexual relations with their parents at the age of seven.

He forced his middle daughter to watch pornography, involving sex between supposed fathers and daughters, while committing sex acts on the girl.

He also told her that he was teaching her 'how to have sex with boys' and warned her not to tell anyone.

The child later told police her father had told her he would allow them to marry at 18, at which point the abuse would stop.

The man attempted to appeal his sentence this year on the basis that it was 'simply too long'. 

Justice Peter Flanagan dismissed the appeal on Tuesday, stating that 'effect of the offending on three daughters was profound.'

'There was an element of grooming the children and using emotional blackmail and manipulation,' he said. 

The man will serve the remainder of his sentence.
