Shah to open new Kannur office of BJP on Oct 27

BJP president Amit Shah will inaugurate the newly-constructed district office of the party here on October 27.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, BJP district president P. Sathyaprakash and party State cell co-ordinator K. Ranjith said that the party president would lead the auspices ‘grihapravesham’ (housewarming) ceremony at the Mararji Bhavan, the newly-built party office at Thalikkavu here named after late party leader K.G. Marar, at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Mr. Shah would then address a public function at the nearby ground, they said.

O. Rajagopal, MLA, would preside over the function. Party State president P.S. Sreedharan Pillai would unveil the statue of Marar.

Mr. Shah would reach the Kannur airport here in a special aircraft, they said. After the inaugural function, he would visit the house of slain party workers Uthaman and his son Remith at Pinarayi, they said adding that the party president would then leave for Varkala by around 2 p.m. The four-storey party office building having total area of 10,700 sq.ft has a library in memory of late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a conference hall with video-conferencing facilities, three VIP guest rooms, an election war-room, offices of affiliated organisations, a 250-seat auditorium, dormitory facilities, kitchen and dining hall.
