Reshma Patel, who had parted ways with Patidar quota leader Hardik Patel and joined BJP in the run-up to the Assembly elections last year, met Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and Minister of State for Home Pradeepsinh Jadeja on Tuesday, and asked them to fulfil the promise of giving jobs to the family members of 14 Patidar youths who were killed in police action during the 2105 reservation stir.
“During the meeting with all the Patidar quota leaders and socio-religious organisations in 2017, the government had promised to give jobs to close relatives of 14 Patidar martyrs (those killed in police action in 2015) will be given jobs by the government. Most of the demands have been fulfilled except this one,” Reshma Patel said after meeting the ministers.
“I had discussed this issue at the party level, but somehow things have remained unresolved. So, I thought of reaching out to the government formally. Both Nitin Patel and Jadeja assured me of resolving the same at the earliest,” she added. A couple of days ago, she had also written a letter in this regard to Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
Reshma, however, said that she was not considering quitting BJP over the issue.
