Actor Mike Colter and wife Iva Colter have welcomed their second daughter.

The good news comes days after his Netflix show "Luke Cage" was cancelled by the streaming giant.

Colter made the announcement on Instagram Monday.

"As one door closes, another has opened, with the birth of my 2nd daughter. Born this week. A lot of great memories. Time to make more. Always forward, forward always," he wrote alongside the photo of their newborn.

The couple, who got married in 2016, also have a three-year-old daughter.

Colter also addressed the cancellation of "Luke Cage" and said the show represented something "more than just entertainment".

"@MarvelsLukeCage added to our social commentary and made viewers think by challenging the norm and putting out a character that reflected the everyday hero, one with flaws, strengths and everything in between," he added.

Colter thanked Marvel, Netflix and fans for letting him portray "a prolific character" like Cage.
