Xiaomi Black Shark 2 gaming phone might likely be named as Black Shark Helo, as per reports. The information comes via tipster Ishan Agarwal who took to Twitter to reveal Black Shark 2’s supposed official name. As per the tipster, multiple sources have confirmed that the new Xiaomi gaming phone will likely be called ‘Black Shark Helo’. Xiaomi’s second-generation Black Shark gaming smartphone will be officially announced on October 23.
While the meaning of ‘Helo’ and the reason behind Xiaomi opting for this name remains unknown, reports speculate that the company might have avoided using the original name due to the ‘minimal update’ to the new gaming phone over the previous iteration.
Xiaomi Black Shark 2 or the supposed Black Shark Helo recently appeared on Geekbench and TENAA certification, as per reports. According to the listing, the phone might feature a 6-inch display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The new Black Shark 2 is said to equip Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor and include 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The phone is tipped to run Android 8.1 Oreo and have a 4,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is expected to feature a slightly redesigned back panel and include a new LED lighting. Reports suggest, that the new Xiaomi gaming phone might be made available in global markets by the end of November.
To recall, the original Black Shark gaming phone made its debut in April this year. The phone features a 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 sports dual rear cameras having a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP secondary sensor. The phone equips liquid cooling system to keep the temperature down while playing games. It packs a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android Oreo OS.
