India on Tuesday summoned a senior diplomat from Pakistan High Commission here and issued a diplomatic note of protest regarding the casualties suffered by the military on 21 October during a cross border infiltration attempt from Pakistani side.
A statement from the Ministry of External Affairs conveyed India's concern regarding continued infiltration attempts from Pakistan.
“It was informed that two Pakistan armed intruders have been killed the Indian security forces during the ensung firefight and the Government of Pakistan take custody of the dead bodies of its nationals,” said the statement from the MEA that also declared that the violent action revealed Pakistan’s complicity in aiding and abetting terrorism in the region.
The demarche or diplomatic note came a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan called for dialogue on Kashmir in view of the ongoing security situation in Kashmir.
“Our grave concern at the continuing incidents of unprovoked ceasefire violations by the Pakistan forces along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) was also shared. Despite repeated calls for restraint and adherence to the ceasefire understanding of 2003 for maintaining peace and tranquillity, Pakistan forces have carried out 1591 incidents of unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC and IB in 2018 so far, ” said MEA.
