The Maharashtra cabinet has declared drought-like situation in 180 tehsils of the state. The cabinet also announced eight schemes to provide relief in the affected areas.
The relief measures include stoppage of power cuts for affected farmers, no loan recovery from farmers and fee cancellations for students.
These decisions were taken in State cabinet meeting held in Mumbai, under chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
He said that State government will submit a report to the central government.
