Red Bull Performs Donuts On Top Of 700-Foot High Building In Miami

Red Bull took their 2011 title-winning RB7 Formula 1 car and placed it 700 feet (213 meters) in the air, on top of one of Miami’s most iconic new towers, the 1000 Museum building.

Behind the wheel of the car was none other than Red Bull ambassador and 13-time Grand Prix winner David Coulthard, who had to be very careful while executing the donuts. The stunt was organized by Citrix, looking to promote their innovative technology platform.

“Citrix and Aston Martin Red Bull Racing have made it possible to come to the 1000 Museum building and do what I think is an iconic stunt,” said Coulthard. “I think, to coin an American phrase, that was awesome!”

He added that Red Bull is a championship-winning team, which is used to doing show car runs all over the world, such as the ones in Dubai and Vietnam. He then added that such a spectacular stunt could also hopefully help promote Formula 1 in the United States.

“It’s absolutely fantastic to have an opportunity to come to America, to come to Miami and to be at the top of the 1000 Museum building, to be here on behalf of Citrix and the Team to help promote Formula 1 in the States.”

The tower, which is a residential skyscraper designed by the late ‘starchitect’ Zaha Hadid, has been under construction for the past three years, and is now close to completion.

The choice of venue also served another purpose: although a Grand Prix is held at the Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas, another one is going to take place in Miami, probably from 2020 if everything goes according to plan.
