Mumbai: This Diwali, there is good news for employees of the Maharashtra State Regional Transport Corporation (MSRTC) — bonus has been announced for both employees and officials. On Monday, State Transport Minister Diwakar Raote announced that employees would get Rs 2,500 each, while officials would get Rs 5,000 each as Diwali bonus.“In addition to the Diwali bonus, the daily allowance of employees will be increased by six per cent and wages will be increased by 10 per cent,” added Raote at the meeting held in the State Corporation office.

MSRTC had recently increased the wages of its employees. Officials will receive a similar increase in wages. It has also been decided to set up a two-member committee, to decide on pay hikes and make its recommendations to the corporation.“The increment of 10 per cent of their total wages in the salary will be applied from October 2018. However, the final increment in the salary of the MSRTC officials will be implemented only after the committee submits its report,” Raote said.
