MeToo movement has been exposing a lot of alleged sexual predators from the industry for their misdeeds. About this movement, many Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and others have been voicing their opinions. Recently, Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has joined hands in support of the campaign.
In a recent tweet, the ‘Bombay’ composer supported MeToo movement. In a statement, he said that some of the names that came out, of the victims and their perpetrators, shocked him. He also gave his support to the movement and mentioned that he would love to see the industry becoming cleaner and have more respect for women. Furthermore, he added that the need for a new internet justice system is crucial so that it isn’t misused against people.

MeToo movement in India started in September when Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of alleged sexual harassment to her during the shoot of the song of Horn Ok Pleassss (2008). Ever since Tanushree accused Nana, many other women from film fraternity have come out and shared their sexual harassment aka #MeToo stories. So far, renowned celebrities like Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Kailash Kher, Anu Malik, Vikas Bahl and others have come under the list of alleged sexual predators in the industry.
