Fearless fisherman dices with death as he wades into chest-deep crocodile-infested waters - just metres from where a monster predator lay waiting
- A man has been spotted wading chest-deep through crocodile-infested waters
- The unflappable fisherman was only 40metres away from a trapped crocodile
- Two fishermen warned him, but he remained unfazed and kept fishing
- Photo was taken during crocodile breeding season, when they're most active
A fearless fisherman has been spotted wading chest-deep through notoriously dangerous waters.
Mortified onlooker Simon Bochow was 'gobsmacked' at the sight of the daring man fishing in the middle of the Northern Territory's Shoal Bay Hope Inlet.
The inlet is known for being infested with crocodiles, box jellyfish and having deadly tides.
Even more distressing, Bochow told ABC, was the fact that a two-and-a-half metre crocodile was precariously trapped only 40metres away.

Two fishermen were shocked to see a man wading chest-deep in crocodile-infected waters
Bochow and his mate Daniel Nielsen-Titus were fishing in a small boat when they noticed something in the water.
It wasn't the catch of the day, but rather the nonchalant fisherman, chest-deep in the water.
When they told him about the crocodile, stuck in a trap less than 50metres away, he didn't seem fazed.
'We pointed out the croc to the guy. He was unfazed by the fact. He shrugged his shoulders and continued fishing,' Mr Nielsen-Titus told Seven News.
The two-and-a-half metre saltwater crocodile wasn't 'huge', Bochow said, but still big enough to 'take a leg off'.
The risk of potentially losing a leg didn't appear to pay off for the fisherman, who wasn't seen catching anything.

He was only 40metres from a trapped crocodile and more than halfway into the inlet
According to Northern Territory Government statistics, the inlet has been a hotspot for crocodile captures this year.
59 of the 285 saltwater crocodiles caught this year have been at Hope Inlet.
The groups disbelief at the unflappable fisherman quickly turned to anger, saying the man's behaviour was a blatant demonstration of a 'lack of respect' for all involved.
'I've lived here my whole life and I would never do anything so blatantly stupid,' Nielsen-Titus said.
October is the worst time of year to swim in crocodile-infected waters, because it is breeding season and the predators are more active.
