VNIT to set up CoE with Dassault Aviation
tnn | Oct 23, 2018, 19:24 ISTNagpur: Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) has entered into a collaboration with Dassault Aviation, French aircraft manufacturer to set up a Centre of Excellence (CoE). Through it, the students will get various opportunities in terms of faculty exchange, internship, placement activities which will start from current academic year. The French giant has already set up a plant in Mihan in collaboration with Reliance Group.
On September 27 & 28, high profile meetings were held at VNIT. The participants were the eminent organizations like Dassault Skill Academy, Dassault Reliance Aviation and French academic partners (CESI & ESTIA). During the meeting various possibilities of academic and research activities were discussed which are planned to explore through Centre of excellence Industry 4.0. From Dassault Aviation, Julien Henry (head of Dassault Skill Academy), Bruno Penot (head of training department), Posina Venkatarao (from Indian office DASH), for DRAL, David Raju (head of HR, DRAL Nagpur) participated in programme to develop the roadmap for industry- academia collaboration.
“The collaboration focuses on manufacturing and industrial engineering aspects,” VR Kalamkar, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department is very positive about the development. Y M Puri, Dhananjay Jolhe and Ravikumar Dumpala from same department deliberated on the development of blue print for collaborative programme. PM Padole (director), SB Thombre (Dean Academics) and Jatin Bhatt (Associate Dean, Industry Institute Interaction Cell) of VNIT are instrumental in making the discussions fruitful with their efforts.
