‘Only Pinarayi speaks ill of tanthri’
TNN | Oct 24, 2018, 00:06 ISTThiruvananthapuram: BJP state president P S Sreedharan Pillai said here on Tuesday that no communist leader, including AKG and EMS, has ever spoken ill of the Sabarimala thantri like the way chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has done.
“In tanthric terms, the Sabarimala thantri assumes the fatherly position of Lord Ayyappa. He is not an employee of the board. Nor does he have any service rules to adhere to. The chief minister is embittered by the inscrutable protest by Ayyappa devotees and is now rambling like one who has lost the battle. Not even a single devotee in the 10-50 age group came to visit Sabarimala, at least from Kerala,” Pillai said.
Pillai said the chief minister should stop making baseless, but serious allegations against BJP leaders. “He claims that Sangh Parivar forces were trying to whip up intolerance and violence in Sabarimala. The chief minister should better order a judicial inquiry to find out the forces behind the attack against media and the police action against Ayyappa devotees. It was the chief minister who tried to create cast polarization and gender war in his efforts to break the age-old tradition in Sabarimala,” he said.
Pillai said that there was nothing wrong in BJP leaders breaking the law in their protest against the attempts to break the tradition. Even Gandhi has organized public movements against such laws. “Personally, I stand by the views expressed by Justice Indu Malhothra. There were instances of minority judgments becoming the law of the land later,” he said. TNN
